Resurrection and rebirth

So, after far too many RL issues, my limited javascript capabilities, frustrations trying to piece together a mix of too simple and too complex backend processes, and well as a number of other shallow excuses, this has returned. I have picked up a lot of lessons learned, namely as I am not a huge fan of javascript, and this is the first experiment with a branching story to this complexity.

There is going to be a complete and massive revamp of how the backend works, as well as tweaking the way the story and world are introduced.

  • I jumped too quickly into the "deep end" of with the way everything was managed internally. It was far too simple in parts, and way over-engineered in other parts, which just made things too difficult on my end. So I've spent some time trying to build out a more consistent and easier way to manage way to track it all, and should survive the added complexities as the chapters move on. That way we will hopefully prevent women magically having beards, as one example.
  • This was compounded by how quickly things jumped into the "deep end" without properly constructing the story form the get go.
  • I've spent some time picking up more nuanced (hopefully) way to provide a more clean experience when reading the text. No long pages that were far too long.

I am by no means a CSS/HTML master, so don't expect a very complex UI.

I am not a graphics artis, so don't expect a lot of images. My experience with free AI art has been extremely disappointing so staying away from that. If something free is out there that fits the game and the world, I can certainly endeavor to look at it. Just like the 'title page'.

I can't say exactly when the re-launch will happen... but as long as my RL commitments stay manageable it will be soon(tm).

I remember playing this game a long time ago.
I don't remember a lot to be true, except I had like it when I'd played it.

But then, as it didn't get any updates for a long time, I put it in the long list of abandoned games (it's not a criticism, I understand it's very difficult for indie dev to create then finalize a project, and why so many are never finished).

So I wasn't expected to hear about it again.

I'm glade to see I was wrong!
Welcome back! :-)
I will reembark in this adventure!
